Yes! Finally! A celebrity in latex at a red carpet event made it to the most well-dressed of the night. Beyonce made sure to whip her mermaid-length hair extensions while posing solo on the red carpet of Monday’s Met Gala. Stylists Ty Hunter and Raquel Smith dressed the 34-year-old pop diva in a skintight latex Givenchy gown featuring pearl and floral embellishment inspired by Riccardo Tisci and created by Atsuko Kudo Latex. The flirty peach creation featured puffed sleeves and hugged Beyonce’s curvaceous figure in all the right places. While latex can be a risky option, this is the Met Gala and it’s the time to take that risk and set the tone of what’s to come. Look at last year with the sheer madness!
“It’s actually a lot easier [to get into]than last year,’ Beyoncé told Fashionista.com, referring to her Coming to America-inspired Givenchy gown. The Ivy Park designer – who sang on the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack – paired her BDSM-inspired frock with smoky eye shadow, big brows, and nude lips. The evening’s theme – curated by Anna Wintour and 2016 chair Taylor Swift – was Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology.
However, Queen Bey’s younger sister Solange was also there, baring her thighs in bright yellow latex stirrups and fanned-out David LaPort couture. The 29-year-old DJ/singer also sported big brows and a fresh-faced complexion, courtesy of make-up artist Miguel Ramos.
